Christian Spiritual Formation is the process of being conformed to the image of Jesus Christ to the glory of God and for the sake of others (II Corinthians 3:17-18). The focus of spiritual formation is the Holy Spirit, who guides the ongoing journey with God. In Spiritual Direction the Director listens to both the Directee and to the Holy Spirit and encourages that conversation directly with God

My calling for years has mostly been Outreach and sharing with men and encouraging them in their relationship with the Lord, mostly through a ministry called CBMC.
I am currently an intern at Selah, which is a Spiritual Direction Training Program. I believe this training will enhance my ability to encourage others in a closer relationship

I am currently an intern at Selah, which is a Spiritual Direction Training Program. I believe this training will enhance my ability to encourage others in a closer relationship and conversations with God. I am currently offering Spiritual Direction in person or on-line.
My wife Carolann and I live in Plano Texas just north of Dallas, I have 4 boys, all grown, which puts us in the season of being empty nesters. I love the outdoors and the beauty created by our Lord.
My Practice of Discipleship
Michael Duffin - Christian Outreach Events and Discipleship
Since 1981 I have connected with other Christian men through a ministry called Christian Businessman's Connection (CBMC). Through CBMC I participated in outreach events and participated with discipleship follow-up.
In addition, I am a trained small group leader with Grafted Life Ministries leading others through their formational Bible study called Life with God. Leading Life With God small groups has been both a great opportunity to offer an environment for transformation to others while benefitting personally in the same way.
Doctrinal Statement
What I Believe
- I believe in the Scripture of the Old and New Testament as verbally inspired by God and inerrant in the original writings, and that they are of supreme and final authority in faith and life.
- I believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
- I believe believe that Jesus Christ was begotten by the Holy Spirit, and born of the Virgin Mary and is true God and true man.
- I believe believe that man was created in the image of God; that he sinned, and thereby incurred not only physical death, but also spiritual death which is separation from God; and that all human beings are born with a sinful nature, and are sinners in thought, word and deed.
- I believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice; and that all who believe in Him are justified on the grounds of His shed blood.
- I believe believe in the resurrection of the crucified body of our Lord, in His ascension into Heaven and in His present life there for us as High Priest and Advocate.
- I believe believe in “That blessed hope”, the personal and imminent return of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
- I believe believe that all who receive by faith the Lord Jesus Christ are born again of the Holy Spirit and thereby become children of God. Further, we believe in the eternal security of the believer.
- I believe believe in the bodily resurrection of the just and unjust, the everlasting blessedness of the saved, and the everlasting conscious punishment of the lost.
